  • NanoSpectralyzer with an extended range InGaAs detector

The spectral range of the standard NanoSpectralyzer can be expanded by adding a second thermoelectrically cooled multichannel spectrometer to detect NIR emission between approximately 1200 and 2100 nm with a resolution of approximately 8 nm. This instrument modification will also allow absorption spectra to be measured from 400 to 2100 nm.


  • Model NM1 Fluorescence Microscope for SWCNT for Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes

The NM1 is a specialized optical microscope system custom-designed for imaging individual single-walled carbon nanotubes through their intrinsic near-IR fluorescence.

- A high quality modular inverted microscope with objective lenses

- A focal plane array detector containing 320 x 256 InGaAs pixels, with sensitivity from 850 to 1700 nm, cryogenic cooling for dark current suppression, and calibrations to correct for sensitivity variations and nonlinearity

- A fluorescence excitation system including three diode and/or DPSS lasers with electronic beam control, optics for beam combining, polarization control, and focusing

- Appropriate optical filters for high contrast imaging of SWCNTs

- A computer system for instrument control and data acquisition
